Why is “ABCD Horse LMNO Horse” funny?
My great grandfather told my dad this “joke” when he was young. He said he had a funny joke and wrote this down on a piece of paper and started laughing. My dad never understood the joke, but just gave a polite laugh, and it has been bugging him ever since. It comes from my dad’s memory too, so it is possible that the real joke was slightly different from this. Nobody else in my family knows. Any ideas as to what this means?
I saw something similar in an old children’s book at my grandmas. I think it actually went ABCD goldfish LMNO goldfish OSAR goldfish CDBDI
It was from some childrens riddle book or something. You said it fast to make words.
Abby (or Hey, Bea) see the goldfish?
Ella, them no goldfish! (I am not real sure on this)
Oh yes they are goldfish… see the beady eye?
Not sure I ever thought it funny, a Generation thing?
I suppose the first part could work for Horse, also.
